Common questions
How does the free trial work?
Every Pro feature unlocks automatically the moment you install Vitals — no card, no account, no sign-up. You get 14 full days to use everything: the performance dashboard, local-LLM tools, 30-day history, Bluetooth device battery, alerts, and the rest. After day 14 it returns to the free tier until you buy Vitals Pro with a single $9.99 purchase.
My trial ended — can I get more time?
The trial is one per install and is meant to give you a fair, full look at Pro before deciding. If something went wrong with your specific trial (a crash, a bug, a Mac migration that reset it unexpectedly), get in touch below and we'll sort it out.
I bought Vitals Pro on another Mac — how do I restore it?
Open Vitals → Settings, and tap "Restore" in the Pro section. If you bought through the Mac App Store, this restores your purchase from the same Apple ID with no extra charge.
Does Vitals slow down my Mac or drain the battery?
No — Vitals is built to be featherweight. It samples system metrics on a lightweight timer and does no background processing beyond that. If you ever see otherwise, please report it — that's a bug, not expected behavior.
Why don't I see [a specific Pro feature]?
A few advanced features (like detailed S.M.A.R.T. disk health) need direct hardware access that Apple's App Store sandbox doesn't allow — those work fully in the direct-download build. Everything else should work the same in both.
